TBS has launched 3 new fragrances this holiday season – Vanilla Bliss, Cranberry Joy and Ginger Sparkle. Cranberry Joy lip balm is one of the two I bought.
I have already reviewed the Vanilla Bliss here.
The details about the packaging are the same as the Vanilla variant but I’ll repeat them.
I have already gushed about the packaging of these lip balms in my Vanilla Bliss review. I totally love these cute dome shaped lip balms. They look too cute.
It can be applied directly on the lips. But it’s quite wide and might be weird for very thin-lipped ladies. And also I guess after some time the dome would become flat and then we’ll just have to apply this with our fingers like a regular balm in a tub. I have not yet faced any issue like this.
The outer packaging is quite plain yet attractive with a golden-ish base and transparent cap. The lid is a screw top thing which fits quite nicely so no problem of the cap opening in our bags and the balm getting spoilt. It is also small enough to fit in your smallest clutch or handbag or office desk.
By now, we all must have already checked out the fragrance in stores. Cranberry Joy was launched last year too, but I don’t know whether its exactly the same one as I had not experienced it last year.
Cranberry joy, is a fruity scent, very slightly citrusy. It does not feel artificial at all. It is a lovely lovely scent. At first it seems familiar to The Body Shop’s Raspberry fragrance but on taking a good sniff its quite different as it has citrusy notes. And it feels much more holiday-ish.
But it’s not a very unique scent. I like it a lot but do not love it as I love the Vanilla Bliss.
On application it’s not extremely smooth like other stick lip balms but not harsh either.
The balm is not totally transparent. It has a very light reddish tint. The tint translates to the lips very lightly with soft shimmer. I feel my lips which are otherwise a little pale look quite pretty with this. With a very subtle tint and some shine. On pigmented lips, it wouldn’t show up at all. Again as TBS puts it this lip balm is “perfect for mistle toe moments”. 😉 very very true 🙂
But one con I feel is, that applying from the dome itself, the colour kindof gets applied outside the lips. This was not a problem with the vanilla one as it didn’t have any tint.
The staying power is quite decent. You can spot some glitter even after 2hours. But I really like applying this again and again. It’s a lot of fun 😛
This balm is not highly moisturizing. But it definitely makes my lips feel softer after I apply this. As I mentioned in the last review, I don’t think this is even supposed to be a very hydrating kindof a lip balm. Even the claims put up by the brand do not say so.
Overall, I would say it’s a good lip balm with its soft tint, shimmer finish and cute packaging making it a very fun product. It has decent moisturizing properties. And absolutely great for gifting someone. But it’s limited edition so catch it while you can.
If I had to choose one, I would go for the Vanilla Bliss scent as I love it much more than this, but then everyone has their own preferences for fragrances. 🙂
Why you’ll like it:
1) Adorable and convenient packaging.
2) Subtle red tint.
3) Tiny glitter particles.
4) Fruity scent.
5) Decent moisturization.
6) Makes lips soft.
Why you’ll dislike it:
2) Limited edition.
3) Tint won’t be visible at all on pigmented lips.
4) Not a very unique scent.
