QUICK REVIEW, SWATCHES: Elle 18 Eye Sparklers.

I had got two of these eye sparklers when they were launched. At that time I only owned one coloured liner, from Revlon and I was very excited for these as the price is extremely pocket-friendly. These cute little pencils retail for Rs.85/- and are available in 5 shades as far as I know – blue blast, gun powder, purple pataka, silver sparkle and green grenade.

I am reviewing Blue Blast and Gun Powder for you all.

The pencils are short and cute but I find them a little difficult to sharpen. The cap too is flimsy and can break easily.

The texture of the liners is very soft. They simply glide on the eyelids without any tugging or pulling. But don’t get so excited just now! They smudge and smear very badly! You just touch them with the lightest touch possible and the line smudges. They can also be used as an all over lid colour as it’s easy to blend these but again, they would crease very quickly. I have not tried but I am guessing they might stay better with a primer underneath.

The staying power of these pencils is quite decent, they don’t fade away but due to the smudging problem they can get smudged with the touch of a feather and so they don’t stay long on the eyelids, especially for oily lids.

The pigmentation of these liners is fairly decent as you can see in the swatches. I especially loveeee the grey shade. It’s such a perfect shade for everyday casual makeup.

I would rate these pencils 5/10 for the pretty shades and the price!

Overall, I would say that these pencils can be given a try once but do not rely on them for proper eye makeup. Since, they have some pretty shades, these are good for playing with colours and having fun 😛

Have you tried these pencils? How was your experience?

And girls, do suggest some good eyeliner with a similar shade as this grey one! Thank you 🙂

  1. They have really good colors but due being less pricy they are not very good na?

Lovely colors, though. I am always a little skeptical about trying things on my waterline.
