🙋🏻‍♀️I’m not someone to expirement a lot with my periods-related stuff. To me, I want to give my body the best comforts possible while menstruating. So I stick with good ol’ pads 🙏🏻 However, I can’t deny how damaging pads can get to the environment. 🌎 They add to a lot of waste and the material can’t be recycled. Plus, the artificial perfumes added to them combined with the synthetic material, often cause rashes and a lot of skin & health problems too like toxic shock, allergies... Maintaining the right hygiene is so important, and it can only be achieved when more women talk about it, and remove the taboo on this topic. 🌱 I’ve been researching a lot and I’ve been trying to transition to these cotton cover pads. They’re more eco friendly and free of BPA-grade plastic. They’re also free of artificial perfumes. They’re very gentle on my body and don’t give me any rashes. Yes, they’re different from our usual popular-brand-pads, and also slightly expensive but they’re way less harsh on our body and our surroundings. Many such brands are available across the world nowadays. I use @natracare and @lovebeginswithl A menstrual cup would be an ideal method to use, it’s the most eco friendly out of all. FATS. so many people are scared of eating fats and it’s the biggest myth in the world that eating Fat makes you gain weight ! . . . Truth is that Fats are a crucial nutrient. In my opinion, for a woman, they’re the most important nutrient. . . ✅ Fats are critical in metabolism and absorbing many vitamins. . ✅ Fat is important for your Brain function. . ✅ Fats are the key to maintaining hormones in our body. 💃🏼 For women, especially in reproductive age, fats regulate so much in our bodies. Eating less fats can cause innumerable problems in our bodies, like missing periods as well. . ❌ Fats don’t cause weight gain or cholesterol etc but excess calories and our lifestyle cause these problems. . . ✅ Fats also help in doing away with cravings. I can personally vouch for this. If you eat sufficient fats in your diet, you will not have any cravings at all !!! Trust me, I’ve stopped having any PMS cravings once I maintained enough fats in my diet 💞 it’s such a beautiful feeling to have smooth periods, with almost no cravings. All thanks to eating good fats. . . . 🥑 I always encourage cooking with less oil. It’s not because there’s anything wrong in oil but This is because 1️⃣ I encourage getting fats from various food fat sources. 2️⃣ it is very easy to go overboard in oil while cooking. . . ✅✅✅ And so, look up good sources of fat for you and pls pls pls never shy away from having them. They’re very important for the well-being of your body 🙏🏻 . . . 💞 My favorite fats are in this picture - olive oil, ghee, nuts(also nut butter), seeds, avocado.
