My first MAC purchase :) !!!!

I am absolutely sure all of you beauty addicts can imagine my happiness at the moment!

Eeeeeeeee :D:D:)
Okay, now a short story!
I really wanted the fluidline in Dark Diversion since ages. And when I heard it has been relaunched in the StyleSeeker collection, I was ecstatic.
But the happiness soon died down. This week, I went to 4 MAC stores for Dark Diversion and still didn’t get it L

On Saturday, 13thOctober, i.e. almost 3 months after my order and 3days after I wrote that post  “miraculously”, I got their mail with a coupon code with the refund amount.
I decided to make use of it and ordered the following stuff.
So here is what I hauled…
Colorbar iglide pencil in Jaded.
Bourjois duochrome eyeliner in Vert Dore.
Lakme lip love conditioner in Flirt.

REVIEW: Nivea visage oil regulating toner.

According to Nivea,
Nivea Visage oil regulating toner containing skin’s own carnitine helps regulate sebum production while thoroughly clarifying the skin without drying it out. Mixed to oily skin needs special cleansing that keeps skin long lastingly shine free.
RESULT: the skin is thoroughly clarified and mattified with a pure and hydrated feeling.
BEAUTY ADVICE: Apply with a cotton pad, cleansing face and neck, avoiding the eye area.
SKIN COMPATIBILITY DERMATOLOGICALLY APPORVED.
Key Ingredients: aqua, SD alcohol 9.15% v/v, glycerin, aluminium chlorohydrate, carnitine, aloe barbadensis, panthenol, PEG,-40 hydrogenated castor oil.
Price: INR 149/- 125ml
Best before 30 months from mfd.
Available at all drugstores, departmental stores and online stores.
My experience:
This is the first toner I’ve ever used, except for Rose Water. I have quite an oily skin and so a toner helps in keeping the oil in check by maintaining the pH balance of the skin.
This toner comes in a light green coloured bottle with a white flip top cap. The cap shuts tightly and is travel friendly too.
The toner itself is a transparent water like liquid. I don’t particularly like its smell. It’s a bit too strong for me.
I use this by dabbing some on a cotton pad and applying it on my face softly, after washing my face. But by evening, my face does turn oily again. Then again it also depends upon the weather conditions. Lately it has been quite humid here in Delhi.
This toner definitely does what it claims though I wouldn’t say completely, but then my skin is too oily. It does keep the oil secretion in check.
I have heard some toners sting on application on face, but this one doesn’t sting at all.
It also does not make my face dry out or anything unwanted. I guess the glycerin in it keeps the skin hydrated.
After applying this, my face feels fresh n clean. It gets absorbed in under a minute.
I’ve been using it since July It’s about to get over now (and then I’ll start with my TBS toner… yippee). But it would easily last about 3 months for anyone else. Mine has gotten over so soon because my sister also uses this sometimes so for one person this is enough for about 3, even 4 months depending on the quantity you use.
Overall, I like this toner quite a lot and would definitely like to repurchase if I don’t find a better one. J
Why you’ll like it:
1)     Reasonable price.
2)     Sturdy and attractive packaging.
3)     Prevents shine on face.
4)     Doesn’t sting on application.
5)     Gets absorbed quickly.
6)     Makes face feel fresh.
Why you’ll dislike it:
1)     Its not alcohol free.
2)     Strong smell.
To buy or not to buy?
Buy.
It’s a decent toner for mixed to oily skin at a great price!

8/10

Review: Himalaya Herbals purifying neem face pack

Purifying Neem Pack

Good afternoon ladies J

I hope all of you are doing great J

Today, I’m reviewing a very good face pack, which is excellent for daily use.

According to Himalaya herbals,

Action:
Clears skin and prevents outbreak and recurrence of pimples. Rejuvenates and firms up the skin. Imparts natural glow. Antibacterial purifying Neem Face Pack regulates excess oil secretion, cleans clogged pores and prevents recurrence of pimples. Improves skin texture. Neem, well known for its antibacterial properties, helps in controlling acne and pimples, and their recurrence. When combined with Turmeric, it effectively eliminates acne-causing bacteria. Fuller’s Earth (Multani Mitti) cools and soothes the skin.

For:

Oily and Pimple-prone skin.

Ingredients:

Azadirachta indica (Neem, Nimba), Panka (Fuller’s earth, Multani Mitti), Curcuma longa (Turmeric, Haridra)

Inactives:
Sodium methylparaben IP, sodium propylparaben IP, imidazolidynl urea, DMDM hydantion

Directions:
Apply evenly over cleansed face and neck, avoiding the area around eyes. Allow it to dry for 10-15 minutes. Remove with wet sponge and wash the skin with cool water. Use once or twice a week.
Do not apply on broken or inflamed skin.
May cause a tingling sensation due to herbal active ingredients, which is normal.

Price:
INR 65 for 50g
Easily available at all drugstores and online stores.

## mentioned on tube: natural herbal formulations tend to change colour over time. However, the product efficacy remains unchanged.
My experience:
This is one of the first face packs I’ve ever used. I generally don’t use much products on my face. I have quite an oily skin but fortunately have never had problematic acne or pimples. *touch wood*
This face pack is specifically meant for oily skinned people and having heard amazing reviews for it I decided to give it a try. Also, Himalaya is one brand which I trust a lot and thankfully, have never had any bad experience with any of its products J
All the ingredients of this face pack are natural and those that benefit human skin.
Azadirachta indica (Neem, Nimba) – it’s a purifying agent. It kills bacteria from the skin. Its also widely used to heal wounds.
Panka (Fuller’s earth, Multani Mitti) – improves skin texture and colour, acts against pimples, acne and other skin problems and absorbs excess oil.
Curcuma longa (Turmeric, Haridra)- it also acts in curing pimples and also brings a natural glow to the face. Indian weddings even have a ceremony where the bride and the groom are applied turmeric to bring out glowing skin J
I use this pack once a week. Since I’ve started using it, I would say my face has become clearer. What I mean is that my skin has evened out, not a very remarkable difference but something I can surely see. I think that’s because of the fuller’s earth.
Also, I’ve not had the occasional pimple or two I used to get earlier.
Since I do not have any prominent problem of acne/pimples I can not say if it works on that but I would say it should be tried definitely, because I don’t think it can be harmful.

Its consistency is that of a thick paste. Its very easy to apply on face.

The only disadvantage of this face pack is that its smell is bad

Review : Vaseline Aloe Vera Lip Therapy

I had bought this lip balm last year, thinking that anything from Vaseline has to be good.
Read on to know if I was right.

According to Vaseline’s website,
Extra soothing and with a touch of aloe vera, Vaseline Lip Therapy Aloe will help soothe and hydrate your lips, protecting them from the elements.

Price: INR 100 for 4g
Available at all chemists, drugstores and departmental stores.

My experience:
I hate this lip balm.
Its absolutely horrible!
When I first opened the stick, I found the balm to be very stiff. I thought maybe after a few uses it’ll get warmed up and feel softer but nahhh…. Its hard and not at all smooth on using!
When I bought this, there was no tester available and so I had not smelled this before buying. I thought its aloe vera and must be good! But well, I was so wrong. L
I can’t even describe its smell; it’s a weird medicinal fragrance which I do not like at all!
Plus, it leaves a whitish cast on the lips after applying. And it takes a very very long time to get absorbed into the lips.
I’ve tried using it in small as well as large quantities and I feel very sorry to say it doesn’t work anyway.

Why you’ll like it:
You won’t.

Why you’ll dislike it:
1)      Bad fragrance.
2)      Leaves a whitish cast on lips.
3)      Takes time to get absorbed.
4)      Very stiff and hard. Feels waxy on lips.

To buy or not to buy?
Not to buy !!!
Please save your 100 bucks for something else.

My rating: 0/10
