My tryst with kajal.

I love love love kajal. But kajal hates me L

No, I’m not talking about some girl named kajal here. I’m talking about kohl vala kajal (taking inspiration from ishq vala love haha 😛 ) i.e. the black eyeliner on the waterline. Most of us, Indian girls love kajal, don’t we?  Yet, I’ve been on this incredible hunt for the perfect kajal since like, forever L

Review: Himalaya Herbals purifying neem face pack

Purifying Neem Pack

Good afternoon ladies J

I hope all of you are doing great J

Today, I’m reviewing a very good face pack, which is excellent for daily use.

According to Himalaya herbals,

Action:
Clears skin and prevents outbreak and recurrence of pimples. Rejuvenates and firms up the skin. Imparts natural glow. Antibacterial purifying Neem Face Pack regulates excess oil secretion, cleans clogged pores and prevents recurrence of pimples. Improves skin texture. Neem, well known for its antibacterial properties, helps in controlling acne and pimples, and their recurrence. When combined with Turmeric, it effectively eliminates acne-causing bacteria. Fuller’s Earth (Multani Mitti) cools and soothes the skin.

For:

Oily and Pimple-prone skin.

Ingredients:

Azadirachta indica (Neem, Nimba), Panka (Fuller’s earth, Multani Mitti), Curcuma longa (Turmeric, Haridra)

Inactives:
Sodium methylparaben IP, sodium propylparaben IP, imidazolidynl urea, DMDM hydantion

Directions:
Apply evenly over cleansed face and neck, avoiding the area around eyes. Allow it to dry for 10-15 minutes. Remove with wet sponge and wash the skin with cool water. Use once or twice a week.
Do not apply on broken or inflamed skin.
May cause a tingling sensation due to herbal active ingredients, which is normal.

Price:
INR 65 for 50g
Easily available at all drugstores and online stores.

## mentioned on tube: natural herbal formulations tend to change colour over time. However, the product efficacy remains unchanged.
My experience:
This is one of the first face packs I’ve ever used. I generally don’t use much products on my face. I have quite an oily skin but fortunately have never had problematic acne or pimples. *touch wood*
This face pack is specifically meant for oily skinned people and having heard amazing reviews for it I decided to give it a try. Also, Himalaya is one brand which I trust a lot and thankfully, have never had any bad experience with any of its products J
All the ingredients of this face pack are natural and those that benefit human skin.
Azadirachta indica (Neem, Nimba) – it’s a purifying agent. It kills bacteria from the skin. Its also widely used to heal wounds.
Panka (Fuller’s earth, Multani Mitti) – improves skin texture and colour, acts against pimples, acne and other skin problems and absorbs excess oil.
Curcuma longa (Turmeric, Haridra)- it also acts in curing pimples and also brings a natural glow to the face. Indian weddings even have a ceremony where the bride and the groom are applied turmeric to bring out glowing skin J
I use this pack once a week. Since I’ve started using it, I would say my face has become clearer. What I mean is that my skin has evened out, not a very remarkable difference but something I can surely see. I think that’s because of the fuller’s earth.
Also, I’ve not had the occasional pimple or two I used to get earlier.
Since I do not have any prominent problem of acne/pimples I can not say if it works on that but I would say it should be tried definitely, because I don’t think it can be harmful.

Its consistency is that of a thick paste. Its very easy to apply on face.

The only disadvantage of this face pack is that its smell is bad

How i became a makeupholic

Like mostly all Indian girls, I started with kajal/kohl. 🙂

But I have a one-sided relationship with it. I absolutely love kajal and it hates me more than anything. It completely refuses to stay on my watery eyes for more than an hour. And I, with all my patience, keep trying newer products.

I’ve probably tried various kajals from different brands till now and have liked just a few.

Ive tried- lakme, Himalaya, vlcc, lotus, hashmi, blue heaven, avon, Maybelline and more recently colorbar and l’oreal.

Out of these, the best I’ve found are hashmi kajal, l’oreal, blue heaven, Maybelline.

The blue heaven and hashmi kajal which come in tube form are like the most amazing inventions of all time. They stay put on my eyes for like forever and for a finishing touch I just apply a thin line with a pencil kajal… my favourite these days, l’oreal contour khol. And I’m ready for the day 🙂

I’ve been a kajal and lip balm/gloss girl for a long time.

Probably because of all the blog reading, I got addicted to trying out different kinds of eye pencils, lip glosses and balms.

Just a year back I started trying out eye liners and kept trying to get the perfectly lined eyes.

Having mastered simple pencil coloured liners, I was still struggling with the basic black liquid eyeliner. At first all I could get were crooked lines with lakme insta liner. I just couldn’t manage its brush. And then came my saviour- lotus herbals opulence liquid eyeliner. It comes with a felt tip applicator and its super easy to apply. I just love it.

Now I’m beginning to try my hand at gel eyeliners, having heard so much about them.

I’m still outside the circle when it comes to eye shadows, foundation, lipsticks. But we all grow slowly, don’t we? 🙂
